After reading your question I think we have lots in common. That is if you're bipolar and have a family that is cold and abusive. What helped me was medititation, just go to the local library and type in the search engine "meditation" and there are tons of books on that. It does really help! Makes you feel calm and in control, and you don't worry about what other people think of you because you are confident and at peace with yourself.
