Can canned goods be frozen?

my local grocery had a big sale on canned goods, so I stocked up. the problem is I don't have enough storage in my pantry. I do have some cabinets up in my garage that I could use, but its about 18F degrees outside and I'm afraid that freezing canned goods may ruin them. has this happened to anyone out there?
