Why are the italians getting so much mob credability?

There might be some Italians really in the mob and there might be Russian and Irish mobs as well. The Italians just get more coverage in films but there are plenty of movies that put the Russian mafia in the spotlight too. And to speak for myself, I am never "hypnotized" by the media I like to follow reality. In other words, when I meet every Italian on this planet and he or she is in the mafia, then I might just believe what the media portrays lol.
